Henrik Schwarz has always stood apart in electronic music — a producer and composer who redefines what it means to perform live. Over two decades, he’s evolved from house and techno foundations into one of the most respected live artists in the world.
Schwarz’s focus has never been on DJing but on creating — building music from scratch rather than playing what’s already there. For him, the 4/4 pulse of dance music is not a limitation but a framework for freedom: “You can do anything in between two bass drums, and they hold it together.”
This philosophy has shaped a body of work that’s both diverse and instantly recognizable for its depth and craftsmanship.
His pioneering use of computers and technology has allowed him to perform in real time, culminating in the acclaimed Schwarzmann project with Âme’s Frank Wiedemann — a live reinterpretation of their own productions that blurs the lines between concert, improvisation, and electronic performance. Constantly experimenting and pushing boundaries, Schwarz continues to expand the possibilities of live electronic music — turning technology, spontaneity, and emotion into a singular, human experience.
